Makhampom Theatre Group was formed in 1980 and registered as a foundation of local people’s press (Makhampom) in 2005. Its vision is using plays as a method for developing local culture. Its methodology is to create a form of contemporary plays, combining Thai traditional style with modern form of theatre, to communicate with various kinds of audiences more easily, in order to achieve our mission, which is using theatrical process and plays to change the society.

The work of Makhampom can be performed at any place whether it is a theatre, an auditorium, a temple yard, a park, a university, an immigration camp or even a prison.
